Flip Grater is a New Zealand singer-songwriter, author, and entrepreneur. Best known for her indie-folk music, she has released multiple albums and toured internationally.
Biography
Early Life
Flip Grater was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. Raised in a family that valued storytelling and creativity, she was drawn to the arts from an early age. Her upbringing in New Zealand inspired her later works, particularly her emphasis on home-grown experiences and her focus on ethical, plant-based lifestyles.
Music Career
Flip Grater began her music career in the early 2000s, performing in small venues around New Zealand. Her debut album was called Cage For A Song (2006), blending folk, rock, and indie influences.
Throughout her music career, Grater released several albums, including:

- Pigalle (2014)
The latter, Pigalle, was inspired by her time in Paris, where she lived for several years.
Writing and Memoirs
In addition to her music career, Grater is an author. Her cookbook The Grater Good highlights some of the dishes available at her French-styled Christchurch Bistro and was released by Koa Press in 2021.

Flip Grater has a daughter. She lives in Christchurch, where she manages Grater Goods.
