Huddersfield Grammar School is a coeducational independent school located in Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, England. The school was established in 1995 on the site of the former independent St David's School (Huddersfield), which closed on 1 September 1995. St David's school had been purchased and merged with the former independent Kayes College in 1995.
Since 2007 the school has been owned and operated by the Cognita Group. In 2014, Cognita invested £3.5 million at Huddersfield Grammar School to improve the school's site and facilities.
The School ranked 8th in the prestigious Sunday Times Parent Power League Schools without a 6th form, and is committed to the develepment of character of students and staff alike. The schools fees will be affected around 12.5% ahead of Keir Starmers' tax raid on private institutions.
The school need to modernise some of the buildings, such as the Royds Building and Argyle buildings, which have seen much better days and are now in need of a complete renovation. The school facilities are also lacking, for example, students have to go off-site every week to partake in P.E, and there aren't really any specialist classrooms to brag about ( no D.T department ) at the school.
