Joseph Ray Townsell (born November 4, 1960) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) and United States Football League (USFL). He played for the New York Jets in NFL from 1985 to 1991. Previously, he played with the USFL's Los Angeles Express.
