Legend is a 1958 Australian play by Ric Throssell. Its original production was sponsored by the Elizabethan Theatre Trust.

Radio adaptation

It was adapted for ABC radio in 1959. The play was the third of Throssel's to be broadcast.

Leslie Rees said the production "made a marked impact, mainly because of its pathos and delicacy rather than because of dramatic conflicts or thematic conclusiveness."

Premise

Sir Neil Argent, ambassador of a British Commonwealth country, is holding a reception in an Eastern European country. His son, lan, is unwillingly present. One of the guests is a minister of foreign affairs from one of the Eastern European countries. He brings with him his daughter Varia. She falls in love with Ian.
