Malpas is a locality in southeast South Australia located 190 km east of Adelaide, South Australia on the Cameron Highway. In the 2021 census, Malpas had a population of 9.

History

Malpas was originally called Woolwa when surveyed as part of an area on the then-newly opened Tailem Bend to Brown's Well railway line in 1913. It was renamed to Malpas in 1921 to honor Lieutenant Harold Egerton Malpas who died in Pozières on 7 August 1916. The railway line through Malpas closed in 1990 and was removed shortly after. The boundaries for the locality were created on 28 September 2000.

Malpas had an institute hall with shops and libraries which opened in 1923 but was demolished circa 1997. It never had a church so meetings on Sundays were mostly held in the hall. Malpas also had a local school which opened in 1920 but it is now also closed. Malpas was originally in the District Council of Brown's Well until a merger that created the District Council of Loxton Waikerie in 1997.
