Masoala, Makira, Antongil Bay, commonly known as MaMaBay, is a complex of protected area located in the north-eastern part of Madagaskar, around Marantsetry and Antalaha. It is one of the rainforest wet area of the Island. NGOs like WCS and ANGAP are actively involved in its preservation as it is known that, with its 1.8 million hectares of land, MaMaBay contains the largest intact stands of mid to low elevation forest, the highest diversity of lemurs in the country, half of Madagascar's remaining coastal forest and a quarter of its lowland forest, as well as coral reefs, mangroves, and wetlands.
