Platycheirus hyperboreus is a species of syrphid fly in the family Syrphidae. In N America hyperboreus is broadly distributed across Alaska, Canada, Greenland and the northern United States, ranging as far south as North Carolina in the east and Nevada. In western and northern Europe ranging from Norway, Finland, northern Russia (Kola peninsula) and on into northern Siberia.
