Star Wars: Republic Commando was a multimedia project within the Star Wars expanded universe, launched around the 2005 video game Star Wars: Republic Commando. It primarily consisted of a series of novels by Karen Traviss focusing on members of the clone commandos of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. A second game, entitled Star Wars: Imperial Commando, was originally planned but was cancelled before it reached development. Similarly, Traviss's planned Imperial Commando series of novels was cancelled after its first entry, Star Wars: Imperial Commando: 501st.
