now on 28.12.24 this movie is running on Zee Talkies a poor farmer's son in a village in Ahmednagar district is hardworking & loved maternal uncle (Mama) 's daughter. He takes Mahindra tractor on loan so the title is Tractor Driver of Mahindra. He is very sincere & sensitive. It is surprising that scenes like digging well by exploding stones by using detonators, the way he kick opens trailer filled with sand shows that even top level actors in Bollywood like Salman Khan can't give realistic scenes of fight & hard work like this hero & heroine too has performed well. Those who have hailed from small villages will love this movie (edited by Prof Dr R Y Shinde, Pune Twitter handle @Veerite)

Reception

Critical reception

Anup George of The Times of India rated 3.0/5 and write "TDM is well-executed and contains some sincere character moments. Even if the first half drags a little, it makes you care about the characters. As the charming Babu, Pruthviraj Thorat does a fantastic job. It definitely touches the heart and the audience genuinely becomes invested in his life. In the second half of the movie, Kalindi Nistane really shines." Kalpeshraj Kubal of Maharashtra Times gave positive review and wrote "The debutants Prithviraj Thorat and Kalindi Nistane in the lead roles have done a great job. The film does the job of capturing the emotions of the human being in various ways." Sakal have praised the soundtrack album said that: "The songs in the film take the film forward and if they are removed from the film, it will be like removing the soul of the film", and criticised the screenplay. Saurav Mahind of Urbanly gave 2.5/5 rating and praised story, music and cinematography.

Box Office

The film grossed over ₹57 lakh (US$67,000) at the box office in India.

Screening issues

"After the release of the film Baban, we are now gearing up for the premiere of TDM. The COVID-19 lockdown in India has brought about numerous changes in the entertainment industry, but the audience doesn't have to wait much longer. Your love and blessings always accompany me on this journey."

On April 28, 2023, the film premiered in Maharashtra. Karhade voiced apprehensions regarding the limited screening availability in theaters. Despite efforts by the producers to secure screenings through requests to venue owners, they were unsuccessful. In response, the creators personally engaged with the audience at the theater. Additionally, the cast expressed their discontentment with the situation.

Bhaurao Karhade said after received limited screens:

Audiences are vocal about their desire to watch the film "TDM" and their current appreciation for it. However, the Marathi audience, along with us artists, feel aggrieved by the scarcity of screenings in theaters. Witnessing these circumstances, I can't help but feel that Marathi cinema is either on the brink of extinction or has already met its demise.
