song substitution

Hope nobody will object to the substitution of the word "song" for tune, composition, etc. in the context of "Round Midnight". While I know that some people do use the word in a more general meaning, it could be misleading to anybody not familiar with the composition in question. And just so that no susceptible soul out there suspects that this is a bad case of US vs. UK Englishes, I provide two authoritative definitions:

Webster's Unabridged Dictionary (1989): song 1. short metrical composition intended or adapted for singing. 2. a musical piece adapted for singing

New Oxford Dictionary of English (1998): song 1. a short poem or other set of words set to music or meant to be sung. 2. singing or vocal music.

List of people having performed or recorded this song

This is pretty superfluous, it is a jazz standard and has been played by just about anyone in jazz music. 81.153.212.219 21:31, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Make song primary?

Performances

I removed the following albums from the Performances section:

These might belong in the Performances section of "Straight, No Chaser", but not here. Jafeluv (talk) 08:24, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Removed again. Jafeluv (talk) 12:57, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Amy Winehouse did not take part in 2002 "Round Midnight Variations"

Neither did Andy Williams. That section has gotten really confused over time. Sojambi Pinola (talk) 04:01, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
