Southwest Broadcasting (Japanese: 南西放送, Hepburn: Nansei-hoso, Okinawan: フェーイリホーソー Feeiri-hoso) Is a Broadcasting station in Okinawa Prefecture of Japan that was scheduled to open in the past.
History
Initially, Okinawa Prefecture where there were only two priavte broadcast aimed at simultaneous opening of two or more stations around spring 1993, but later became a situation where the simultaneous opening of the autumn of 1995 was considered to be strong with the ANN affiliated Ryukyu Asahi Broadcasting . However, as the plan fell short due to the freezing of the Okinawa advancement plan of Nippon Television, the application for broadcasting licenses was also withdrawn, so in 1999 the frequency allocation for the 4th station of the commercial television of Okinawa Prefecture was also canceled. Later, Southwest Broadcasting went bankrupt.
The cause of the plunge was said to be the extension work of the two existing station at that time, but the real cause is that Japan TV is not in the environment to invest heavily due to the recession caused by the collapse of the bubble, The main reason is that funds are necessary (For Japanese TV affiliate establishment in Okinawa Prefecture, Japanese television side was more motivated than local side). In addition, it seems that there was also a plan to receive program supply from each NNN / NNS station after joining as an independent station initially and join the same line.
