Fritz Schaller (18 January 1902 – 26 May 1983) was a German footballer. He played club football with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Career
Schaller began to play club football aged in Oberstedten 14 years. He stayed at his hometown club 1. FC 09 Oberstedten until the end of the year 1924 before signing with Eintracht Frankfurt.
He played for the Frankfurt club from 1925 until 1933.
Winning Bezirksliga Main-Hessen in 1927–28, Schaller's Eintracht advanced to the Southern German Championship final round where his team finished as runners-up, advancing furthermore to the German championship play-offs, losing to SpVgg Sülz 07 in the round of 16.
Eintracht won the 1928–29 Bezirksliga Main-Hessen again and finished Southern German Championship final round on 4th. In the 1929–30 season Schaller and Eintracht won the league title for a third time in a row. In the Southern German Championship the Riederwald club won with a seven points clear to runners-up SpVgg Fürth. In the run for the German championship he played on 1 June 1930 in the quarter-final when Eintracht lost 2–4 to Holstein Kiel in Berlin. Schaller netted two goals in the game.
Als Sieger der Gruppe Main 1931 belegte er mit seiner Mannschaft den zweiten Platz in der Endrunde um die Süddeutsche Meisterschaft 1931 und war ebenfalls für die Endrunde um die Deutsche Meisterschaft qualifiziert. Er bestritt das Achtel- und Viertelfinale am 14 und 17 May 1931 beim 3:2-Sieg at Fortuna Düsseldorf und bei der 0:2-Niederlage im Altonaer Stadion gegen den Hamburger SV.
After the Eagles clinched the following season once again in their division as champions in 1931–32, they also advanced in the South German championship and played a decider matching for the South German championship. That match took place on 1 May 1932 when Stuttgart hosted the match Eintracht v FC Bayern Munich was abandoned in the 83th minute after turmoil and Eintracht were declared South German champions. From 1933 to 1959 he was player-manager at 1. FC 09 Oberstedten.
