Thank you for the introduction, but it shan't be necessary, since I have previously edited Misplaced Pages. Ἀπόλλωνος (talk) 00:18, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

November 2024

Misplaced Pages's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.
Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 01:30, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
Is there any way I can appeal this ban? I don't think it's especially propitious for either of us to go around this endless back-and-forth of account creation, blocking, and so forth, over the course of over a year at this point. I just want to edit constructively, is that so difficult to ask? Ἀπόλλωνος (talk) 04:45, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I feel this block was unwarranted because I created this new account to edit constructively, and my intentions were not malicious in the slightest. The only thing I did with this account was revert the blanking of a redirect; surely Misplaced Pages has more pertinent issues than someone merely trying to help out in a bona fide manner? In addition to that, I am a frequent donor to Wikimedia; I strongly doubt that someone who spends their hard-earned money to help a project will do so with malintent. Decline reason:

Thanks for donating money, but that goes to the Foundation to operate the servers Misplaced Pages is on(and other Foundation purposes); we don't see the money, and whether you donate or not has no impact on matters like this. If you want to edit constructively, you must request unblock from your original account. The block of that account is on you personally, not just your account, and you may not edit under any account or IP address until the original block is removed. It is in and of itself abusive to evade a block regardless of good intentions. If you want to edit, get your original block removed. Furthermore, you are banned, not just blocked, so no admin can unilaterally remove a block. There must be a community discussion. Return to your original account and request discussion of your ban there, though that's not likely to succeed before six months with no socking. If you have no intentions of avoiding socking, we're just wasting our time here. 331dot (talk) 09:23, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@331dot: I do not have access to my original account (which isn't particularly surprising, given that it's been a year and a few months since it was blocked as a sockpuppet). Would I be permitted to request unblock via this account in six months time? Additionally, what is recommended in an unblock request? I have already appealed for clemency in other unblock requests, and that didn't work. Ἀπόλλωνος (talk) 15:25, 24 November 2024 (UTC)

I've seen people request unblock for blocks made a decade or more ago.......but if you cannot remember your password, you can try here in six months' time. I haven't examined your prior requests to know what they said or the circumstances, but see the unblock appeals guide. Six months would also be a bare minimum, especially if you have extensively socked. 331dot (talk) 16:27, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
Previous unblock requests can be seen here. I have not extensively socked; the list of my sockpuppets can be seen here. Ἀπόλλωνος (talk) 17:32, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
