Restoring a lost dignity

Meatpuppet?

Bouncehoper: What the crap is a meatpuppet?

Baegis: A marionette that subsists on a diet solely of meat and its derivatives.

Bouncehoper: ...How is that different than a sockpuppet? (also, makes me hungry....)

Baegis: Sockpuppets, of course, eat cotton products, which are severely lacking in nutrition and deliciousness.

Bouncehoper: How....strange....lol. thanks!

Gangnam-gu

Thank you for following me today and correcting my mistakes. I was having some trouble with those infoboxes. I added images to all the dong of gangnam-gu and a gallery to bongeunsa. The image I added to the gangnam-gu page looks really out of place. I don't know what to do about that. Could you take a look at it? Also, if you are going to delete Cheongdam-dong could we then move Cheongdam to Cheongnam-dong? DaronDierkes (talk) 05:57, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I'd be willing to do this for the other gu of Seoul if you can help me find the admin maps. the English version of the Seocho-gu website for instance doesn't appear to be working. I can speak/read/write korean, but at the level of a pre-schooler. I'm an anglo-american. I have some more questions for you, but go to the Daechi-dong page, that's where I'm going to put them. DaronDierkes (talk) 06:05, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I tried to put the maps in but they consistently were not showing up. :o( Anyway, I feel good today, there's a lot of editing energy in me right now. ... But i'm a work and i'm beign pulled away. Grrr... DaronDierkes (talk) 06:25, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I know, it just wasn't working out for me. Nothing would appear. nevermind... :( DaronDierkes (talk) 06:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Figured it out, there has to be some hangeul, or hanja in the box for it to appear. My keyboard is not equipt currently, so my boxes didn't appear. I got it now! :o) DaronDierkes (talk) 08:57, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Could you help me with the Yangjaecheon article? Which dong's does it flow through? Which gu is Yangjae-dong part of? Is that Seocho? DaronDierkes (talk) 06:29, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I meant to ask if you know where in gangnam it flows, at the dong level, so that I can add it to the appropriate articles. anyway, look at this crazy map I found. Also, I can't seem to find too many museum pictures but i've got loads of temple shots. I just added one to Mihwangsa, i'll get more soon. Typing, typing, typing DaronDierkes (talk) 06:57, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Those are really great pictures. It seems my face is in all my good pictures :o) I guess nobody wants those. We've made great progress today. DaronDierkes (talk) 07:11, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't go through Dogok-dong??? but you can see tower palace from almost anywhere on it. DaronDierkes (talk)
Right. Thank you so much. I'm sorry to overwhelm you with stuff here. Have a good day.DaronDierkes (talk) 07:27, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I made some massive changes to the article Gu of Seoul which now looks more like the Cities of South Korea page and made a smaller article Dong of Gangnam-gu linked off the Gangnam page. What do you think? Too much? DaronDierkes (talk) 10:19, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Geographical Divisons of Seoul

I think you hit the nail on the head. We need place articles before we can describe things in those places. I noticed that you had two museum lists, one for South Korea and one for Seoul. Let's work on the one for Seoul in conjunction with this and save the one for South Korea until later. If we find the location of a museum, we should make sure there is a dong article for it and that it is mentioned in the appropriate gu and dong article. For the list of tallest buildings in Seoul, we'll do the same. If I make a building article for Star Tower for instance, I'll make sure to write about it on the Yeoksam-dong page. So right, let's start the impossible task of making an article for ever dong in every gu. I can make maps, I just need a good map to use as a reference which is hard to find in English. We should also make a template for every gu similar to Template:Gangnam-gu. Big task, but big rewards for wikipedia users. DaronDierkes (talk) 04:05, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

성동구 redirecting to Seongdong-gu

OK, thanks for explaining. Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 00:28, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
No problem. --Appletrees (talk) 00:35, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

You are all over the place

Look how much work you have done! Jeez. Excellent work. As you can see from my work page, User:DaronDierkes/South Korea you have done a lot of what I was intending to do, but have done it much faster than I could ever have. I'll try to redirect the titles of the templates you made off of Dong of Gangnam-gu and onto unique articles for each dong. You've done the ground work. I'll try to follow and assist where I can. Fantastic work. DaronDierkes (talk) 03:33, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

I saw, User:Appletrees/Dongs of Seoul, and am quite intimidated by it. :o) That's a lot of stuff! Ok, you do what you need/want to do and I'll do what I need/want to do. I'm sure we will overlap a lot. I've got a similar project for St. Louis and I've made a To Do list, Talk:Neighborhoods of St. Louis/to do which I think will be helpful as I go along. Do you think we should make something like that for Seoul or would the list itself be a mammoth undertaking considering the great number of gu and dong? Just something to think about. Every gu is, in effect, a city with sister cities and unique administrative divisions. As I find the time, I would like to bring the various gu articles up to the standard of normal city articles with sub-sections for education and all that. We're a long way off though. Anyway, I have to go to work now, I'll be back online in a few hours. Hope to talk to you soon. DaronDierkes (talk) 03:43, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
You are a machine! You've done an incredible amount of work this week. Check out Gu of Seoul, it is shaping up mainly with information and pictures you supplied. Of the dong articles mentioned on that page, they are almost all done exclusively by you. We'll get rid of all that red soon enough. I'll make maps as I have time. The maps I added for Dobong-gu are of pretty poor quality. Compare the maps of Dong of Gangnam-gu and Dong of Dobong-gu. Which format do you prefer? Then look closely at the difference between the maps of Gu of Seoul and Cities and Counties of Gyeonggi-do. If you can't tell, of the four only Dobong-gu and Gyeonggi-do are of the same format. They show the sub-divisions of whatever segment is highlighted. Seoul shows only gu, Gangnam shows dong and sub-dong. Which map format is best? Can you see what I'm talking about? There's a difference. But I'm not sure what the standard should be. Advice? DaronDierkes (talk) 11:13, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

RV on the Korea Project notice board

Specifically I was referring to the DYK section, where the second column starts at #1 again. I'll see if I can find a way to fix it. PC78 (talk) 23:36, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Best to just remove the columns then. I did find another template which might have done the job, but apparently it only works with Mozilla browsers. PC78 (talk) 23:56, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Ah see. I'm using Firefox, so did not realize the problem.--Appletrees (talk) 00:00, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

PHG

Appletrees, I realize that you want to defend PHG, but please be careful how you do it. It's one thing to make calm statements of fact, and it's another to say that other editors "hate" him, or for you to accuse other editors of slander. I see you making many accusations that other editors are making groundless accusations in bad faith and absurdity, but from where I sit, you too are making bad faith accusations, and with much stronger language. If you want to continue participating to offer an opposing opinion, please do, but please try to make your comments more civil, thanks. --Elonka 23:53, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

The report itself and your accusation is really a groundless harassment. The strong words used by you and others are not close near civility. --Appletrees (talk) 23:59, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

PHG was feeling persecuted by the prospect of not being allowed to add sources in languages other than English as evidenced by his arguing against such restrictions on his talkpage. Let no one be under the illusion that this is anything but more of PHG’s gaming. How much longer will the community allow one disruptive user to occupy its time? Aramgar

Is it a civil and rational comment? If you think it is a recommended way of showing civility to people, I don't listen to it. Calling a spade to spade is not uncivil act. Your rationale for AFD on France-Japan (19th century) is also clearly shown of your incivility and lack of logic.--Appletrees (talk) 00:10, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

If you think I have said something uncivil, please provide a diff, don't just make vague unsubstantiated charges. Your accusations towards me ("incivility and lack of logic") are creeping into the realm of personal attacks. Please review WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA, and try to adopt a better standard of behavior. --Elonka 00:25, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I will brush up the policy if I truly need one. Still, you fail to defend Aramgar's highly recommended civility and others with providing so-call convincing evidence. Regardless of the abundance of incivilty and bad-faith comments by the people today, the only reason you come to preach me about civility is just because I defend him. You think my calling 'spade' is uncivil but others' attitude against PHG is justifiable, your involvement would not raise concern by abitrators. What you're accusing me of showing incivility also suits personal attack. You're a fairly a new admin, and your previous accusation of PHG creating history of middle area is clearly a good example of what you're doing here. Plus, your attempt to accuse PHG of committing possible image infringement with Durova is why I throw out my doubt about PHG's disruption accused by you and stark thinking differently.--Appletrees (talk) 00:42, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Infoboxes

I'll try and have a look at it tommorrow. PC78 (talk) 00:25, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!--Appletrees (talk) 00:25, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure that it's a good idea to create too many Korean infoboxes like this, unless there is more information to add besides just the Korean names. Have a look at this. The first one is Infobox Korean Museum. The second is the normal Infobox Museum, but with another template to show the Korean names under the title. The idea is that this one template could be used in other infoboxes. It needs more work, but if you think it's a good idea I can spend some time on it. PC78 (talk) 16:43, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Take another look at the second infobox on my userpage. Better? PC78 (talk) 19:12, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

List of Parks in Seoul

that's a great page. I suppose a list of parks in South Korea will eventually follow. Are there different levels of parks? In the states we have local parks, city parks, county parks, state parks, and national parks. Among the national parks there are national forests, national monuments, and all manner of different divisions. So I'm curious about things like, that park north of Seollung station where that king and queen are buried, it starts with an S. I don't see it on your list. Is it a national park? Seoul Forest is administered by the city of Seoul. Are there gu and dong level parks? DaronDierkes (talk) 05:14, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

301, 302 poster

Hi, Appletrees. Someone just deleted the poster to this important film because, apparently, the image description was not done right. I looked around and couldn't find a good replacement. I put up the inferior image, with watermark, that is at the article now. I did see an image HERE at naver.com, but they require a log-in to get into the main article. If you can access a good copy of this poster, would you mind uploading a replacement? (Just paste in the image description I've provided, and change the URL.) And, by the way, don't give up on the North Korean film list... I'll get to it! The problem is, it's not a list. Each film has its title, and then a description, and it goes on for many pages... It'll mean I'll have to scan many pages and cut the titles off, then paste them into one file... unless we can think of a better solution. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 21:32, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Wow, you're fast! Thanks! Dekkappai (talk) 21:45, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

removal of comments

this is of course your talk page, and you are able to remove comments as and when you wish. However, removing them prevents discussion from taking place.

If my comments warning you about your personal attacks are removed, should I place them somewhere that you are not able to remove them, so others are able to view and join in the discussion, for example on the ANI board? I thought it might be a little unpleasant for you, if I put them there, and that is why I put them on your talk page, however I am slowly coming to the conclusion that an ANI report might be a better choice. Linking

  • Linkified ] → Good
  • Linkified ] → BAD

User:Mugamalanga

I am an admin reviewing your deletion request. I have reviewed Mugamalanga's edits and understand your concern, but am not sure that deletion is the way to go. Do you believe that Tabang and Kangdong are hoaxes or otherwise salvageable? If Mugamalanga contributed positively, or did not contribute at all could these article be improved? Jon513 (talk) 11:59, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

If Kangdong is the same as Gangdong-myeon you should redirect one to the other. If Tabang has no sources, and you don't think there ever will be, you should nominate it for deletion. Jon513 (talk) 13:50, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi, Appletrees-- Just to butt in a bit-- I do think the Korea tabang is worthy of an article. Obviously the user above was using this article to strongly push a POV-- and a very biased and offensive POV at that-- but that doesn't mean a good article can't be made about tabangs. Dekkappai (talk) 17:29, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Korean cinema

OK-- I did a quick copy-edit of Ilmin Museum of Art. About the tabangs-- seedy or not, if it's a properly-sourced, NPOV article, I think it's fine. The above editor, obviously, was using the article to make his own political/social statement, and he even admitted that at the talk page. I'm just about finished with Anna May Wong, and looking for another big project to settle on... something in Korean cinema might be nice... Do you think Kim Ki-young would be ready for FA class? What would we need to change? (I've never got an article to FA level yet, this might be a good first one.) Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 18:10, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll take a look through the Kim Ki-young article again and look through the FA process. There was that one book on Kim I wanted to get before going through FA, but I still don't have it. But the article is long enough as is. Maybe it just needs small work... I notice also the Im Kwon-taek article is in very poor shape, and Im certainly deserves a major article... Dekkappai (talk) 19:37, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
About Anna May Wong-- Right-- the current lead photo is nice (actually I prefer it to the movie-star/glamourous poses), but it's not really the image she is known for... The photo you link is most likely not in PD, because it would have been taken after 1923, and doesn't appear to be part of the Library of Congress collection. Thanks for looking around though! (Those are some very interesting pictures of China in the era by the way-- Did you notice the Japanese poster for a film called "Scandal?" It seems to me that Im Kwon-taek had that film poster, or one like it, in one of the Jangun ui adeul movies... And that also reminds me of a problem with Im Kwon-taek... He's alive so we won't be able to put up a "Fair Use" image!) Dekkappai (talk) 21:19, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes-- that would be great if we could get a Free image of Im Kwon-taek. I didn't like the "General's Son" trilogy very much either-- they're not my type of films, but they are well-done anyway. Im's a master director, there's no doubt about that. Of his films that I've seen, I like Chi-hwa-seon and Festival best... But, like him or not, he probably did more than anyone to bring an international audience to Korean cinema. By the way-- the AMW photo was changed back... Dekkappai (talk) 22:20, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Oh, the two articles look great and can be nominated for DYK (I sorta start liking the useful project) Your interest range is really broad. :)--Appletrees (talk) 20:31, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes I also am finding the project very useful for tying things togther.

I've proposed Liberian museum for a DYK. How does this sound:

This morning I've created around 100 new museum articles this morning for Greece and Thailand. With Greece i have added external links to fairly decent sources so they should all be able to be expanded decently. I've developed Abdera Archaeological Museum, Aegean Maritime Museum , Aiane Archaeological Museum etc to begin with and will gradually try to fill out all the other greek ones. Greece is particularly important archaeologically of coursefrom the ancient era.

i did stub some of those temples the other day, I'll try to start them all in the next week or so, so there are articles there for expansion. Keep up the good work also! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 14:01, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks keep those neighbourhood and market articles coming in. I would suggest you start an article Shopping in Seoul like I started with Shopping in Taipei (which unfortunately somebody has now added content which makes it look like a tourist brochure. Sigh sigh). There is probably a wealth of info to write about, I would help you expand it with obvious info that is given in English. Not only could you write about the main central shopping district and history of development of retailing in the areas but you can include details on notable markets through the city. Structually it would be a very important article as it connects these articles and indeed neighborhoods and districts of the city together in one. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 14:14, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I've started Shopping in Seoul and Dongdaemun Market although somewhat shabbily. Category:Retailing in South Korea has been created and is an area that could be expanded with articles on some of the other South Korean major cities. I'm sure you'll be able to do something with the two ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 15:06, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Your're welcome I'm certain a lot more can be written but I hope the basics are there. That shopping center looks huge!!! Did you spot the bald guy Blofeld look-alike fortune telling lol??

Meantime I've just created some articles on universities in Yangon including the Yangon University of Dentistry!! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 16:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC) Yangon is what they call Rangoon, the former capital of Burma these days. Oh, thanks again. I thought Yangon is somewhere in China. :) --Appletrees (talk) 17:15, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

It sounds it doesn't it. Yes I see what you mean. I just created an article and had to have merge it with Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association. Thats a pretty diverse range of articles I must admit. There is just so much to do on here I try to cover as much territory as possible!! After a nice break now I think I'll continue with the departments of Burkina Faso later-only half to do! Best regards anyway. Thanks ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 17:21, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Kim Ki-young film

Hi, Appletrees. I'm taking a look through Kim Ki-young before putting it up for review/FA, and I've tried to start an article for each his films. One remaining film puzzles me though. IMDB calls it Hipijok sal yuk (1973), other sources call it Cheju Island Terror... I can't find it at KMDB. Kim is supposed to have co-directed it, but there is no mention of it at the old House of Kim Ki-young site... Any ideas? Thanks! Dekkappai (talk) 03:11, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I have no idea and can't find the movie titled 히피족 살육 (Hipijok sal yuk slaughter of hippies) or 제주도 공포 (Cheju Island Terror) in Korean website. Maybe it is misinformation?--Appletrees (talk) 15:48, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for looking, Appletrees. Yes, I've suspected it is incorrect too... But I've seen a couple of reviews from people who saw it. And apparently it played on U.S. TV at some time (under the title "Cheju Island Terror"-- the original title seems to be the "Hippy" one... Very mysterious... Sijo

Hi there. I would like to ask you something about Sijo. I wondered if you made cleanup icon on page of Sijo as far as I check from history page. Would you let me know why you decided to do so. Well, it can be thought none of my business but I just question you for further edition I will make... Are there any criteria to designate such a thing?? (Beginner's question maybe!) Thanks Pju0353 (talk) 10:57, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

The article have no original Korean poem on the page except one that I added which is important. Although the article adapts the Harvard style for inline sourcing, overall it has still insufficient footnotes. --Appletrees (talk) 11:07, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Korea-Happy Suwon.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Korea-Happy Suwon.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Misplaced Pages (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Misplaced Pages page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:49, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

The Gu of Busan

I noticed you moved all the Busan gu articles to a <gu name>, Busan format for consistency. I don't know if there was a need since they one that were containing the city name in the article title were some like Jung-gu or Gangseo-gu because those link to disambiguity pages. Not all gu articles currently contain the city name, like Nowon-gu in Seoul or Daedeok-gu in Daejeon. I don't see anything wrong here, I just don't know if it was necessary.

Also you moved all 15 gu articles from Category:Wards of Busan to Category:Gu of Busan. Maybe Ward isn't the best term in the first place but I think Category:Administrative divisions of Busan would be even better. It's less confusing to someone unfamiliar with the subject and it would also include Gijang-gun, Busan, which isn't a gu. This is also the category name used on the Korean wiki ko:분류:부산광역시의 행정 구역. — Luccas 23:14, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

YJ

Just because you did not feel attacked by the user's departing comments, doesn't mean that others were not. Personally, I have a thick skin, but I'm sure others would prefer it if we were all WP:CIVIL and discussed these issues in good WP:FAITH. Lest we forget, this user demonstrated WP:COI, bad behaviour WRT a previous prod (deleting tag with no discussion), and probably sockpuppetry ... richi (hello) 23:49, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

more

I see they selected the DYK anyway, although they dropped the name of the Liberian president to shorten it a bit. Today I've constructed the Template:Districts of Laos to get the country onto here. Then I will set it at collapsed as it is soo big!! Later I can create template for each district and begin covering the towns in more detail. I flew over it a few years back and it is absolutely stunning from the air. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 19:38, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

A typical example

Oh stunning country. Have a look at Luang Prabang which I added the images and infobox map to. Thats a better example of the country than Vientiane I think. The rivers look spectacular from the air. I flew over it via Hong Kong to Bangkok and hands down it was the best plane trip I ever had. Not a cloud in the sky and the lush green forests, rice fields and brown rivers looked aweseome even 35,000 feet up. Luckily I managed to create a locator map so people can learn where the new places I add are!! Cambodia is also a stunning country but because of its terrible history and poverty in many places many people don't realise this. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 20:10, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Well its the Mekong delta and all the countries that it flows through. But Yunnan, Laos, Burma, Vietnam, northern Thailand and Cambodia look very similar in parts. I also will have to save and backpack around southeast Asia. I was besotted by the Buddhist temples in Thailand when I last visited -so spiritual and moving. Next time I want to really visit further afield and there are thousands of square miles which rarely get trodden on by tourists in those parts!! Best regards -hey we're really educating each other aren't we!! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 20:30, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Well exactly thats the fun thing about travel to far away places isn't it its like a whole new world. The Americans go crazy for British and European castles and architecture too. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 20:45, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

I know. But the impression I get though is many Americans think most British people speak the queen's english and are suave, very confident and live in a country manor -the Hugh Grant or Roger Moore sort. There may be a few in the upper class in some of the counties like Berkshire like that but they should try visiting the council estates in places like Glasgow lol which couldn't be more different in all aspects of well eveything. There are far more rough and ready types like Vinnie Jones over here than people like that!!! (Now that guy is one heck of a hard nut) They would have an absolute fit if they saw some of the rough areas in the cities!!! (But I guess many countries are like this even the most spectacularly beautiful of countries have rather less attractive areas of their cities) There are many beautiful buildings and landscapes over here though of course all over the country from the lochs of Scotland to the welsh hills. If you came to Wales you'd probably think the Brecon Beacons and the Gower coastline beautiful too. I for one have a huge passion for European art and architecture ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 21:09, 9 May 2008 (UTC) Keep those dongs coming in anyway!! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 21:20, 9 May 2008 (UTC) Your're doing amazing with them trust me. I know what it has been like adding the Burkina departmwnt of which there are 301 of them. I'm doing them gradually or I start nodding off!!!! Yes I remember Gwyneth Paltrow saying in an interview in her early acting days when she came to England she couldn't believe how different the every day British guy is, how care free they are. She had expected Colin Firth or a Lawrence Olivier type and was very surprised at what she saw. Obviously she liked them or she wouldn't have married a regular British joe like Chris Martin!!

Interesting you said about me running a top travel business earlier, I'm considering finding work as a travel writer or something. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 21:34, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

Well I've just turned 25 finished uni a few years back with a Bachelor of Science in Human Geography! I worked for a few years but am now in between jobs but I am indecisive as to what to do. I don't want a 9-5 office job which is going nowhere for the rest of my life even if it pays the bills. I know I could do something really worthwhile that I love if I could find something. I'll have to look around. But to combine my greatest assets; knowedge of world geography, cultures and writing seems the most natural career to pursue.

Paltrow is American and her parents are, but I have to admit both her and her mother look very British. I think it is also because she has appeared in many Shakespearan sort of films that people think she is English. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 21:53, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

I've had to deal with unfriendly editors also today. Have a look at Template:Bassar Prefecture. Reckon I can get them blue linked? Some day we will be able to use satellites to take photographs of everywhere at ground level. So anywhere inaccessible can open up! Wouldn't that be great!! Its such a shame that so little on the web is available on most of Africa as some of these places have a fascinating story to tell. But first stage is to get some recognition of them on here.I came across an article on Agnam-Goly exactly the same sort of size place that those settlements in the template are. My dream is that eventually all of them will have an article like this. It kind of gave me new hope that a full article on an african settlement is actually possible ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 13:24, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

I've found a way to compile lists and fill in areas of countries which can be done in the most efficient way possible. It took me some time to work out but I also created most of the missing locator maps at User:Blofeld of SPECTRE/Missing locator maps so an article and map on most places in the world is now achievable. Some day the bot guys will authorise User:BaldBot to create a programme to generate 10 a minute and speed up the process ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 13:32, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

LOL yes but the Bot hasn't been authorised and I have doubts that it ever will. I'm certain it could be done. It would save a great deal of time too. Yes a vast amount of Africa is French particularly central and western africa. French is by far the most widely language spoken I believe. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 13:59, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Korea under Japanese rule

I do not wish for an argument with you, but your actions are not helpful. This is sourced information which has been in the article since October 2007 and provides vital balance to the article's POV. Also, it was rude of you to revert without first allowing me to post my comment on the talk page. Please discuss this matter before reverting again. PC78 (talk) 04:21, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

That is your POV and your unfit accusation just shows how rude you're on this matter and unhelpful for the discussion sake.--Appletrees (talk) 10:36, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Please remain civil and assume good faith, because at the monent you are doing neither. Besides yourself, this material has only been removed from the article by one user (and that includes a number of likely sockpuppets).
Your claims that I am making false accusations and stalking Youngjoon Shin are both false and highly inapropriate, and I regard them as personal attacks by yourself. The two warnings I gave to him were entirely justified and due to inapproriate behaviour. Any accusations of sockpuppetry were supported by evidence, and of course, that means going through someone's edit history to find that evidence. But I really don't have to explain myself to you. Need I remind you that you also warned him about sockpuppetry? PC78 (talk) 14:28, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Whatever. Since you seem to know so well what I am doing, I can only assume that you have been following me. Telling you to remain civil and assume good faith is most certainly not a personal attack. Either report me to someone for whatever it is you regard as inappropraite behaviour, or keep your petty accustaions to yourself. PC78 (talk) 14:47, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
You appear to be a little bit obsessed yourself, since you are so keen to talk about him. You are entitled to your opinions, but Youngjoon Shin did not leave becasue I made him (I do not have the power to make anyone do anything); he left because of his own actions. No doubt you would feel differently if he had named you instead. I know you as a good contributor and have enjoyed working with you in the past, so I would like any uncivility between us to stop. But my intentions have always been good, and you need to stop accusing me of things. PC78 (talk) 15:04, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Please stop. Your contined comments about my "own POV" are increasingly uncivil. You say I am not a judge of your opinions, but you are doing a good job of judging mine. And in what way am I making "false blames" on you? You are accusing me of certain things, and all I have done is ask you to stop.
Regarding my earlier comment about you being rude, that was because of something specific. When I reverted the article, I said "moved to talk" in my edit summary, meaning I wanted to discuss the reasons for the revert in more detail on the talk page. But you reverted again before I had the chance to do that. That is what I considered rude of you. PC78 (talk) 15:24, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
And please stop with your continued accusation that I am "following" Youngjoon Shin. I have already said that I went through his past edits looking for evidence regarding the sockpuppet case. I only reverted a few edits which I considered to be vandalism. You commented on the Samsung Group article elsewhere: please explain to me how twice removing 80,000 bytes of sourced content - without giving a reason - is not vandalism? PC78 (talk) 15:38, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Now you are guessing about his intentions; he made no comments on the talk page or in his edit summaries. So yes, removing a substantial amount of sourced negative content does shift the balance of the article, and yes, I do regard that as vandalism. PC78 (talk) 15:48, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
If that is what you believe, then fine. But he most certainly was guilty of removing comments from talk pages posted by other users, and that most certainly is vandalism. And if he was vandalising talk pages, then I don't see why he wouldn't vandalise articles too. PC78 (talk) 16:13, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Appletrees, you are doing the exact same thing as me. You have your own version of the "truth", and that is YOUR POV. You say I'm being unhelpful by saying I'm right and accusing you of being uncivil, and what are you doing? You say that you are right and accuse ME of being uncivil. And the article history doesn't lie; you waited all of 6 minutes for my explanation before you reverted again, hence my comments about rude behaviour. Everytime you ask me to stop accusing you further, you do so by accusing ME further. For God's sake, please stop and think about what you are saying. PC78 (talk) 15:46, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

And if you think that I don't have better things to do today, you are wrong. I have made no unwarranted accusations towards you. In fact I have done little but defend myself against you since you started attacking me. I have already explained my actions, and if you don't agree then that is fine. My opinions are what they are, and I never once said that I was right. But I urge you to end this discussion here, because it is getting us nowhere. I am truly sorry if this affects our ability to work together in the future, but on this matter I think we must agree to disagree. PC78 (talk) 16:05, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Where was my lack of good faith regarding my comment about the Samsung article? Yes, I have accused you of being uncivil and lacking good faith; you may not agree or have intended it, but that is how your comments have been received. And yes, it appears you feel the same way about my comments towards you. What I did resent most of all was your accusation that I was "following" Youngjoon Shin. I am not. I merely reverted a number of his edits which appeared (to me) to push a particular POV and were generally not helpful to the encyclopedia. When you appear to be so familiar with my own edits, what am I supposed to think of you? And who else besides you thinks that I am following him? Youngjoon Shin may have made some good contributions to Misplaced Pages, but that does not excuse him from bad behaviour. PC78 (talk) 16:53, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
OK then. Regarging the Samsung article, I meant only that you were only guessing the motive for removing that content. But we don't know, since nothing was said in the edit summary or the talk page. There was no lack of good faith regarding your comment. Also, I would like to thank you for your actions regarding the barnstar below. PC78 (talk) 17:51, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

List of film festivals in South Korea

Hi Appletrees. I've had in mind starting up articles on some of these awards/festivals for a while, and Blofeld pointed me to your list. One question I have is on the difference between awards and festivals, or are they the same? For example, Lee Young-il calls the Grand Bell Awards "Grand Bell Film Awards Festival"... based on this, I'll add it to the list. But if this is incorrect, feel free to take it out. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 23:09, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh, those are the same one (I missed the whole point). Thank you for adding the reference and caring the list. I just created it as referring to a Korean encyclopedia with this keyword "영화제" (film festival), so the list might be pretty much missing some of important festivals and I thought I should add some award ceremonies but I was tired at that time of doing more research. So thanks! :) --Appletrees (talk) 23:16, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately Lee Young-il lists several awards, but doesn't give the Korean names... I'm pretty sure "청소년영상페스티벌" is "Korean Youth Film Festival", and I notice THIS link which indicates the Korean Independent Film Festival is actually a series of festivals. The "Korean Youth" one went from 1975-1988, then "Golden Crown" from '89 to '93, etc... I wonder if one of these is the one where Kim Ki-young is supposed to have awarded Song Il-gon? Dekkappai (talk) 23:57, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Lee also lists a "Kumkwansang Film Festival" established in 1984 by the Korean Motion Picture Promotion Corp. Dekkappai (talk) 23:59, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
You're right. They are the same one with different names in the whole period of time. But I could not find anything related to Song Il-gon there yet. (I looked through the award winners until 1998. Korean websites are suck and frustrating me because they don't have a proper "search tool" for users easily to find needed information. --Appletrees (talk) 00:09, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Need better picture for ddeokbokki

I don't know where to post this request. But, can we get a more traditional picture of 'Ddeokbokki?' All Korean restaurants serve ddeokbokki with the tubular style of ddeok so this picture is a bit misleading, although it looks nice. In addition, Ddeokbokki usually will not contain any spaghetti like noodles, so this picture has two strikes against it. Other than this tiny gripe, I think the Korean cuisine page is well moderated thanks to you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.117.160.36 (talk) 06:44, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the better picture, I feel better now that we're not misleading anyone. I wasn't wrong when I thought this page was well moderated. By the way, what is the venue for requests like this in the future? I wasn't too sure about posting on your talk page.

Either relevant page(s) or post it to WT:KO. If food images are not good enough to represent Korean cuisine, you can search related images from Commons:Category:Cuisine of Korea or search images with a free license in Flickr and then upload them to Commons. Ttangkkeut and other things

I actually don't know much about this place; I just came across the Korea Times article (which you have linked to in the article) and thought it was something we should have an article for.

As for the to-do list, I think Badagnani is just being his usual self. The rules at the top of that page have been there for some time and are quite specific - entries older than one month should be removed or resubmitted with new dates. My own thoughts about the to-do list are that it should be for current requests only, as the project also has a red link list for more permanent and long-term requests. I think that the two need to be better organized, but I am not sure of the best way to do this. PC78 (talk) 18:19, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

Personal questions

You are asking more personal questions again, which I do not ask to other editors? That is fine, but when you take that personal information and ask rude questions, it is not a proper way to act. There are Buddhists in Korea and they have special food tailored for their diets. I prepare my own food with substitutions and the restaurants I have been to make the dishes altered specially for me. Nevertheless, I am addicted to the Food Network and Iron Chef, which if I were not interested in all cuisines (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) I could not watch if I restricted myself to only studying vegetarian foods. Misplaced Pages can be edited by anyone, editing in their individual areas of interest, and if you are insisting that I cease from editing any articles regarding non-vegetarian Korean foods, that is unreasonable. If I make an error, you may of course correct it, as I would do if you made one. I kindly ask that you refrain from making such personal prescriptions to other editors in the future, thanks. Badagnani (talk) 19:41, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Totally misunderstanding and bad faith comment. Please don't say things that I've never asked you before. --Appletrees (talk) 20:14, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

You asked "why do you insist to edit Korean cuisine articles" -- followed by very many question marks. Using very many question marks indicates extreme intensity in writing. Your question was very like the anon's question, "Why do you insist to write about something if you are not from that culture?" As such, it was impolite. Badagnani (talk) 20:17, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

I've never said the "insist" comment on my question. Using many question marks is one of my habits for the occasion when I'm very curious. Please read WP:AGF and WP:CIVIL policy which you violate and Please say "TRUTH". I'm no longer started at your extreme impoliteness and maniplating information . --Appletrees (talk) 20:23, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Shin Jung-hyeon

Hi, Appletrees. I'm not much of a popular music fan, but I attended a big Korean music festival in Hollywood last night with my wifie and son. Most of it was the kind of pop-music that I don't like, but I was impressed by one performer-- Shin Jung-hyeon. He and his sons performed for quite a long time, and he was excellent. I'm kind of sorry to see we already have an article on him, becaus I wanted to start it! :-) But I think I'll try working on the article a little, just to learn about his career myself. If you have any information/sourcing on him, please point me to them. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 23:49, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Appletrees-- I'm just online a couple minutes, so I'll start researching tomorrow. Rock is not my area at all either-- I'm an old classical guy. Hope to find interesting things on him tomorrow, and thanks! Dekkappai (talk) 23:59, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello how are you?

Hi how are you? Making good dong progress? Things at present look quite promising with the GeoBot discussion anyway. Potentially if approved it would allow me to get over 1 million new articles onto wikipedia. Today I'm taking a breather from settlements though and have just been adding dome Romanian poets and Tunisian artists such as Ahmed Hajeri. INcidentally he was involved with the 1988 olympic artwork in Seoul. Funny isn't it how Seoul and a Tunisian artist could be connected! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 20:02, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I'm not sure whether to except though as I have always turned it down in the past because I believed it would interfere with my work on the mainspace and take away the fun of it. I could certainly use the tools at times for maintenance issues, but I don't want people to expect me to start blocking ten people every day and getting into disputes, I try to avoid that as much as I can ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 21:16, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Hmm.. I understand the point, but admins here specialize in various fields, so I've seen many admins not using blocking tools unless it truly needs for the community. Yesterday and today, I'm working on hangul as adding missing sources and the most prolific editor dedicated to the article is actually an admin. I've only seen him to have block just one vandal for 5 months. :) Just think about the offer. For your tasks, you seem to really need the tool which could expand your world of Wiki. Other good things would hail to you. --Appletrees (talk) 21:26, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi thanks for the vote of confidence. I do find it concerning though that editors with less than 1/50th of my editing experience are considered candidates particularly those who seem desperate for adminship. I could really use some extra maintenance tools certainly but I see the nomination as an opportunity for the minority of disagreeable editors I've encountered in the past to have a dig at me. These are the sorts of people who will ignore the planning and work that has gone into the running of our articles which should qualify for admin tools immediately. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 12:49, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Well I'm certain I would get a lot of support but what Punkmorten was missing is that if I had the tools I would use it to the full benefit of the project to improve the site in terms of maintenance. As we speak Category:Cities, towns and villages in Thailand names need moving back to the original pages which I am powerless to change. I certianly wouldn't abuse my powers over other editors and in the event of being made an admin I would have felt obliged to be the best role model I could for others and would be extra careful with every edit or comment I post on here. It is extremely disappointing he put me off like that evne before it had started. I have a great deal to offer, and as an experienced editor himself he should have been aware of this but it seems it was deliberate ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 13:19, 21 May 2008 (UTC). Anyway I love the kitties you have at the top of your page. It looks terrific!!! The second and thrid images really are quite amusing indeed. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 13:31, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello Mr. Appletrees. Could you brew me and my kitty some cider? Just kidding. On aserious note I was wondering whether you could clarify what the status is on Korean settlements naming conventions. You see we've merged cities, towns and villages in most asian, african and latin places into one cat and for the larger countries have split by region e.g Category:Cities, towns and villages in .... Province etc. Now at present it seems we only have articles on the main cities, but it looks like there are about 15,000 places in total in South Korea. As the bot will undoubtedly be adding these eventually, I was wondering what you would consider appropriate. Would housing all settlements by region of South Korea appeal to you like Category:Cities, towns and villages in Gyeonggi-do Province or would you rather keep the cities cat as it is and just create a seoerate Category:Towns and villages in South Korea cat? If we are to have 15,000 settlement articles on south korea I would imagine splitting by region as suggested and including all places in a given area for conciseness but this could be done whilst keeping the main Cities in South Korea intact -e.g the official cities of Korea stay in that category but may also be placed into new egional categories which would include all settlments in a given province. Any thoughts amigo? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 15:34, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

My Recent Rfa

Although you opposed me in my recent RFA I will still say thanks as from your comments and the other users comments that opposed me I have made a todo list for before my next RFA. I hope I will have resolved all of the issues before then and I hope that you would be able to support me in the future. If you would like to reply to this message or have any more suggestions for me then please message me on my talk page as I will not be checking back here. Thanks again. ·Add§hore· /Cont 16:24, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Sorry

Well, I am sorry, then. I had honestly just assumed all along that you were the same person. It is a funny coincidence, since in addition to having a similar name you seem to share many of the interests and word-use and editing patterns of that user. As I'm sure you know, that user has a penchant for name-punning and sockpuppeting (as well as meatpuppeting), and has been active under numerous aliases since being banned. He has also been active (and well-behaved) on Commons as commons:User:Applebee. But Misplaced Pages is a big place; lots of people have similar names and interests. Sorry again. Cheers, -- Visviva (talk) 02:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

The account on Commons (well-behaved chad) is me. The above comment is not even close to "Sorry". --Appletrees (talk) 03:02, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks so much for your support in myRfA, which closed successfully this morning. TravellingCari 19:17, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

A fair amount of the article seems to have been cut 'n' pasted from this Korean Food Culture page. However I am confused as to why you should have removed the query about "grass bowls". I can't find a reference anywhere else about "grass bowls". Albatross2147 (talk) 02:33, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Korean cuisine

Thanks for the message, I have been inactive for the last couple months as I have been trying to get my thesis going and then all of a sudden one of our instructors went out on disability so I ended up covering my regular two classes which I was an adjunct for, to a six class course load. this however turned out for the best as I have now decided to go on-board with the school as a full-tme instructor where i will be able to make some needed modifications to the program. Still haven't gotten the thesis done but I now have time to work on some articles as the semester has come to an end. However, only one of the two books showed up, the noteworthy one was supposed to arrive at the start of this month but the publisher has yet to release it. It should show up anytime now, so once it does hopefully in the next couple weeks, I will pounce right onto that article and get it going in a good direction. thanks again for the e-mail and I look forward to working with you soon.--Chef Tanner (talk) 21:23, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

RE: Marmite

What an odd request! :) Unfortunately, though I am indeed British, I've never touched the stuff. Sorry! PC78 (talk) 01:26, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

What can I say? I'm fussy when it comes to food. :) PC78 (talk) 01:36, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
It sounds like you got molasses or nutella. Marmite is extremely salty and strong-tasting, in an extremely umami/fermented taste that also has a bit of bitterness. It would not taste very different from spreading chunjang or a very dark-colored doenjang on your toast. If you call around and look hard enough, you should be able to find it in some grocery store near you; I have found it in a grocery store here in Ohio. Badagnani (talk) 01:42, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, but the spread I try to search is not nutella (very tasty spread made of chocolate with nuts) and more sticky and darker in color. I don't know what molasses is, but will see the article.--Appletrees (talk) 01:54, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Molasses is very, very dark brown to black, sticky, and sweet. It also has a slightly bitter undertone. It is the component of sugar that is taken out to make granulated white sugar white, so brown sugar has added molasses, giving it a "richer" or "tangier" taste. In Germany, a similar syrup, called Zuckerrüben-Sirup, is made from sugar beets. Other dark spreads found in America include sorghum syrup, birch syrup, and shagbark syrup, although the latter two are very rare. Carob syrup may also be encountered in Middle Eastern cuisine. Dark corn syrup is another possibility, but it isn't really very dark brown in color, more of a light tan. Molasses is not very expensive and is readily available in both supermarkets and health food stores. It's usually used as an ingredient in baking or candy making, although it can also, according to taste, be used as a spread or dip for toast or bread. It can be high in minerals. Badagnani (talk) 01:58, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the detailed information. I ate it in UK long ago, so if there is a Tesco related market in my place, I'd have already got it....My English hearing was poorer back than now, so I just caught the small portion of information... Given the information, the spread seems like a kind of molasses. Thanks again.--Appletrees (talk) 02:13, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Newly taken photo at Molasses. Regarding Marmite, there are also similar products including Vegemite, although that one is mostly only available in Australia. Badagnani (talk) 02:22, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh, really thank you for the effort. The thickness and color seem to be the one that I've searched for. Then, time to go grocery shopping and taste and confirm them. (though I think I've eaten Swedish cookies (from IKEA) made with Molasses several times, which have distinctive bittersweet and a bit funny scorched taste)--Appletrees (talk) 10:16, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Bot approved: dabbing help needed

Hi there. Fritz bot has been approved at Misplaced Pages:Bots/Requests for approval/FritzpollBot for filling in a possible 1.8 million articles on settlements across the world. Now dabbing needs to be done for links which aren't sorted as the bot will bypass any blue links. and I need as many people as possible to help me with Misplaced Pages:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Places to prepare for the bot. If you could tackle a page or two everything counts as it will be hard to do it alone. PLease also pass on the message to anybody else who you may think might be willing to help. Thankyou ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ 12:21, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

AIV

Howdy, I saw your report on WP:AIV regarding the Manhwa article. Alas, I decided against blocking since (i) content disputes generally don't get blocks and (ii) since there seem to be dynamically assigned IPs involved, a block will not do much. What I suggest is to first add an additional note on the talk page outlining your view. There has been some discussion of Manhwa-Manga issue stretching back several years, but a fresh discussion might elicit more response. You might consider adding a hidden note (use the <!-- comment --> tags) in the infobox or near the top of the page directing people to the talk page. If people continue to edit without discussion, make a request at requests for page protection or send me a note on my talk page. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Best wishes and thanks for the hard work! --TeaDrinker (talk) 01:19, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

I can very much understand your frustration (and have been there many times myself). The balance is trying to keep Misplaced Pages open to everyone while keeping vandals in check. I'm afraid sometimes we wind up having to put up with repetitive edits for a while to avoid unnecessarily excluding other users. I've gone ahead and added a hidden note to the top of the Manhwa article (feel free to change the wording as needed). I wasn't able to locate the RFCU, but I'd be interested in finding out more about this possible sock. If the problems continue, let me know. Thanks and keep up the great work. --TeaDrinker (talk) 01:52, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Re:Tabang

Look, I am not sure what your issue is. You seem to be a bit emotional or sensitve about something I have done, although I have done nothing except add an entry on Tabangs that is factually correct. Soon I will add an entry on Room Saloons which is factually correct. Regarding nationalism, I have none, and I have no agenda. I only wish to write about facts, and not just facts that serve Tourism. If I had a nationalism, it would be to write about subculture, which I find very fascinating and a topic not to be shammed since every society has it. I am certain we can have dialogue without the injection of illogical emotions that serve no empirical purpose. I would seek to write about the subculture of any country. I do not discriminate, to even my own country. I have no feelings about the negative issues of where I am from. None. I will write with this open-minded emotionless objectivity."--truthbeforepride (TC) 16:53, 02 June 2008 (UTC)

Re:Korean

I am not Korean, although I can read, write, and speak intermediate Korean. However, it would be useful for me if you could write your calm, collected, and responsible opinion in English without beginning your comments with such words as "so" since it implies a negative tone, which I know you would never intend because you are a responsible and collected person. I have nothing against Korea and actually have more "real" Korean friends than most Koreans have. I still get the feeling you are upset about something, although the results of an investigation from a report on human rights in South Korea is not something responsible people include emotion into since it is simply stating the facts. If you are going to make the claim that because I am not Korean, I cannot know about the deeper parts of Korean society, that would be empirically false and not empirically supported by either an a priori assumption or a qualitative understanding of what I know on Korea.--truthbeforepride (TC) 16:53, 02 June 2008 (UTC)

Re:Korean

I provided a reliable source for the role of Tabangs and prostitution: a human right's report. When I hear my Korean friends make jokes about Tabangs, they do not refer to it as a ticket tabang. I visit Pohang, Busan, and many other smaller cities often. My native Korean friends call the women that drive the scooters Tabang Yojas, knowing they are prostitutes. My Korean friends I study with often joke that I know too much about Korea.

My first edits follow WP:V and WP:RM. policies since I included a verifiable source and it is not vandalism since I wrote the facts. Regarding the difference between Tabang and Ticket Tabang, people generally do not refer to it as Ticket Tabang--at least so long as I have listened to Koreans--but rather tabang. However, if that is the dispute, I will also include that it may be referred to as Ticket Tabang.

I am not sure what I can do to convince you this is my first time to use Misplaced Pages. If you are using my writing ability as evidence that am used to Misplaced Pages, that is not a reliable reason to base your assumption on. I am not sure what you mean by my "signature." Your conclusion that I joined a week ago, so I must not be new, is counterintuitive. I write well not because I am used to Misplaced Pages, but because I write as a part of my academic research, which involves a lot of sourcing and searching for evidence to uncover the truth behind an assumption.

I don't know who this Anon or Mugamalanga fellow, and I am sorry for the unusual timing of my post right after Anon was challenged. I don't know Wiki Policies very well, but commonsense does tell me that academic sources such as those from .org, .gov., .go.kr, and so on are mostly reliable and valid, but this is the standard for any research in any field. Unlike this person you mentioned, Mugam..., I will not introduce misinformation, although the information I may introduce will offer insight on subculture in Korea along with their proper sources. Prostitution has been around for thousands of years in all countries.--truthbeforepride (TC) 16:53, 02 June 2008 (UTC)

Sensitive Issues

I understand that prostitution in Korea is a sensitive issue because for one, it is prolific, and two, many Koreans do have high moral standards for society. I find this quit dynamic. There are people in Korea who live very ideal lives and remain mostly naive about subculture in society, while some other Koreans engage in it their whole life right under their noses. I find this rather fascinating. It is as if there are two Korean societies completely out of touch with one another. I am also quit interested in the Jopok culture. I have heard some of my Korean friends speak of using one of these fellows to enforce some of their interests. This is quit fascinating. The US was much like this in the 70s. I am also interested in those Korean young people who drive their motorcycles late at night and do crazy stunts in circles. I think you also categorize them as Yangachie. I also wonder if anyone has written about domestic violence in Korea on here. I read a human rights report that stated that 1/3 of Korean households have experienced domestic abuse at least once.--truthbeforepride (TC) 16:53, 02 June 2008 (UTC)

mistake

I had no idea it was from a film. I will go to the Red Light district tomorrow and take a picture, and then upload it. You always come to these big conclusions as to "seeing what you are doing." Please stop with the nonsense conspiracies and grand assumptions.

How do I remove it? Please do not try to intimidate people with comments like "I told you it is very sensitive in Korea." This has absolutely no relationship to any decision to post any comment on the internationally-based Misplaced Pages. I got the image from google images.

Regarding your grand assumption, you said, ". I'm also a member of the WikiProject Korean film tastforce, so it is so easy to figure out what you're doing." There is nothing to figure out. I pulled the picture from google images: nothing complex. Please tell me how to remove the image.

It is the image. How do I remove the image from Misplaced Pages.

Hi, Appletrees! I've been doing fine. Right... I've been biting my nails on the Anna May Wong FA Review for about a month now! While this is hanging on I'm having difficulty really digging into another article-- I'd like to do another GA in Korean or Japanese cinema... Blade of the Phantom Master and Zombie Hunter

Howdy, thanks for your patience. It appears that Blade of the Phantom Master was semiprotected a few hours ago; I went ahead and semiprotected Zombie hunter. These sorts of things can be slow and painfully drawn out, so I can appreciated your frustration. It may be a good idea to add a note to Talk:Zombie hunter about the categorization and authorship. I agree it may be redundant with the other discussions elsewhere, but on the offhand chance someone comes to the article unexpected it will invite further discussion. It looks like Manhwa has not been edited in a few days. Let me know if you run into any more trouble. --TeaDrinker (talk) 04:51, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
