Vevo is a proposed online media content website that will be a joint venture between Google and Universal Music Group (UMG). It is planned to begin operations in late 2009 and Google and UMG will split ad revenues. Google's YouTube video service will host UMG content on the satellite website. This will be the first time YouTube hosts content off its main website. Vevo will not be exclusive to UMG, but currently only UMG is signed up to offer its content. UMG CEO Doug Morris claims it plans to work with other record companies to host content from elsewhere. Warner Music Group removed its content from YouTube in March 2009, but is said to be considering hosting its content on this new service.

UMG registered the domain name vevo.com on 20 November 2008. As of 9 April 2009, the website was blank.
