Pteranodon sternbergi is a species of Pteranodon, a pteranodontid pterosaur. It lived in the middle-late Cretaceous, about 85 million years ago, in North America. It lived on fish, and was among the largest of the flying reptiles, having a Template:Unit length wingspan. It was first described in 1966 and is believed to be an ancestor of the later species Pteranodon longiceps. It is also the first known upright-crested species of Pteranodon.
