The municipality Bardu in the county of Troms, Norway, has 3,799 inhabitants as of January 1, 2002.

The largest town and administrative and political capital is Setermoen.

Norway's largest military garrison is located at Setermoen, the military is the municipality's largest employer and more than 1000 young men perform their duty service here each year.

Bardu has over the years produced several internationally renowned Nordic combined performers. The two most honoured being Fred Børre Lundberg and Bjarte Engen Vik.
