- Sayeed Abubakar is the only poet of modern Bengali poetry whose poems have been translated in two international languages: English and Spanish. "Selected Poems: 2010-2012" by Sayeed Abubakar, a book of his selected poems in English was published in 2013 by Bubok, UK. "Poemas de Sayeed Abubakar, un Poeta Bengali", a book of his selected poems in Spanish translated by the Mexican poetess Lorena Lopez Velazquez has been published by Bubok, UK recently. He has seven books of poetry in Bengali. Among them, Pronoyer Pratham Pap (1996, 2008, Ittadi Grantha Prakash, Banglabazar, Dhaka) is the most popular book in Bangladesh. For poetry, he was given Lalon Award in 2009. He is one of the top 500 poets of the world in Poemhunter.com.
