Programming

Disney Channel Asia airs a variety of shows, aimed particularly at elementary family children. Most of the programming is similar to the American and Canadian counterpart with some shows exclusive to the Asian version such as Upin and Ipin, BoBoiBoy, Mr. Bean and Zig and Sharko, four of them originally created in Malaysia, American and France. Some new live action sitcoms Waktu Rehat and Mr. Bean air earlier in while releasing them later for the rest of Southeast Asia. Disney Channel Asia often holds promos that offer prizes to promote shows or movies.

Disney Family Movies broadcasting locations by Philippines availability broadcasting on Cignal Digital TV (Channel 17), Dream Satellite TV, SkyCable (Channel 14), Destiny Cable (Channel 50), Mountain View Satellite Corporation (MVSC) (Philippines) (Channel 53), Cablelink Channel 8, ultiNet Television Cabantuan (Channel 46), Parasat Cable TV (Philippines) (Channel 38), BOHL COMMUNITY CABLE TV (Channel 17) and Maharlika Cable Systems, Inc., San Juan, Batangas (Channel 47). Censorship

Some programming is edited due to local mores and to be acceptable to various audiences such as Muslims and other local cultures, with romantic plotlines and violence removed, along with some suggestive dialogue, along with the usual removals of profanity. Other local feeds such as the one in the Philippines may have more liberal censorship policies.

In 2011, Disney announced that Playhouse Disney would be replaced by a new channel, Disney Junior. Playhouse Disney ceased broadcast on July 11, 2011 and was replaced with Disney Junior.

Disney XD

In September 15, 2012, Disney announced that Disney XD will be launched in Malaysia on Astro (Malaysian satellite television) on channel 617 in Standard Definition and channel 637 in High Definition and in Brunei on Kristal-Astro on channel 617 in SD.
